Sue Adler To Have Her Own Signature Sandwich at Millburn Deli

Sue Adler posing in her new Millburn Deli attireLast night my husband and I attended the Millburn-Short Hills Newcomers Club Winter Gala at the beautiful Beacon Hill Club in Summit. There was an amazing turnout and I got to see so many of my clients -so it was alot of fun for me. There was a silent auction, and the first item, which quickly caught my eye, was  “Create your own signature sandwich at the Millburn Deli. Your sandwich will appear on the sandwich board for six months.” I instantly got excited  – I mean how amazing would this be for marketing? – seriously!

Well, I  put in a bid. A few hours later I noticed that I was outbid and the auction was nearing the end, so I stood by the table, feeling really competitive ( I cant help it, I’m just that way when I really want something) and made sure my bid was the highest.  So, yes, YAY, I won my own signature sandwich!!!! So here’s where I need your help.

What should I name my Millburn Deli sandwich? And what should be IN this signature sandwich?

At first I thought “The Sassy Sue Adler” – roast beef with melted provolone with sassy horseradish sauce. But it’s too much like another griller they have.

Then in the middle of the night I thought…. how bout “The SueAdler.combo”? ( SueAdler DOT combo -  Get it? ) But what to put in the combo?  Between appointments today I built my ideal sandwich in my mind… Turkey, avocado, sun dried tomatos, cucumbers, and goat cheese on a whole grain roll or a whole grain something or other.

Please be creative and share your ideas and do NOT be shy. And if you had to name your own deli signature sandwich, what would you name it and what would you put in it? Feel free to share your ideas here or on my facebook page:  http://www.facebook.com/sueadlerteam .   And if I like your idea better than mine, I’ll buy you deli sandwich!

Yours to count on,

Sue

A little Rocky Balboa Inspiration for 2010

YouTube Preview Image

As we move forward onto 2010, I wanted to share with you one of my favorite Rocky moments.   I realize this isnt your typical holiday post ( sorry, I’m kindof like that), but I thought this was such a powerful, inspirational  message to bring us into the new year and share with those we care about.

I plan to post this video onto both of my daughters’ facebook walls, so if you see comments on my wall such as “Mom, stay off of my wall!”  or possibly a little harsher than that, you’ll know why. But really, I’m fine with that - as long as the message in this video gets through to them, right? :)

Wishing you and your family love, happiness, success and  good health this holiday season and throughout the new year.

Yours to count on,

Sue

Truly inspirational video to take you into 2009

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/79325/

Its Christmas day, and I just came across this video which made me cry- happy tears.  It also made me want to immediately share it with my children and my team with my motherly advice ( I can’t help myself!). Here goes:

As we look ahead to 2009, don’t let the noise of the naysayers get in the way of your path to success. Surround yourself with positive people who support your goals and help support their goals too!

You can accomplish anything if you’re:

1. focused on mastering it

2.persistent in pursuing your dreams

3. work with a servant’s heart.

I’d love to hear from you what advice you think we should add to this!

Maybe consider family charitable contribution instead of stocking stuffers this year?

By Deirdre Silberman

Few of us have been left unscathed by the economic meltdown all around us. The losses and uncertainty have touched us all, and even if we are fortunate enough to be stable, we all know neighbors, friends, and family whose lives have been affected severely.

While the retail sector will see the worse holiday in recent memory, there is a common silver lining that I see more and more. People are considering family charitable contributions instead of person to person gifts. Many of our friends are rejecting stocking stuffers and ‘things’ that are really not needed, and are creating pacts with their friends to not exchange grown up gifts, and instead just give to children. A family tradition we have enjoyed for years is to sit around the computer and make a donation, as a family. One year we bought a cow for a village in Africa, another we bought goats and chickens. We see this more and more with our friends.

Perhaps seeing our own vulnerabilities helps us empathize with others. Don’t get me wrong, I certainly share my 9 year old son’s desire for stuff (video games for him, shoes for me).  it’s just that in these tough times we have the choice to either feel sorry for ourselves and our losses, or find gratitude for all that we do have.

I bet you will find relief from your friends, if you suggest that instead of giving you a gift, they buy chicks for a tribe in Africa. You do the same. it will cost less, do more, and make you feel a lot better than another ‘thing’. I won’t even mention how green this is.

The Trophy Kids

Mom and dad, get ready. You’re about to be blamed for something else.
The Millennial Generation. (Where did generations X,Y and Z go?)
According to an article in the Wall Street Journal, “The Trophy Kids Grow Up: How the Millennial Generation Is Shaking Up the Workplace,” kids born between 1980 and 2001 are entering the job market and causing all sorts of problems. Read the rest of this entry »

Wall Street Journal article on "The Trophy Kids Go to Work" – Absolutely fascinating article that I’d love your opinions on

The following article was so interesting to me. Maybe because it makes me think of my own children and how they will be in the work force one day ( currently ages 16 and 18). As parents, we’re taught that our childrens’ self esteem is the most important thing and everything we have done for them was so that they would feel good about themselves which would help them in future years in life and the workforce. Has this all backfired? I would really love to hear your comments on this- from ALL generations because I think this is such an interesting topic.
Thanks,
Sue Adler

Why You Should Purchase "Your-Child’s-Name.Com" NOW!!

WHY YOU SHOULD PURCHASE “YOUR-CHILD’S-NAME.COM ” NOW!!
Years ago when I purchased www.SueAdler.com ( before any of the other Sue Adlers out there), I also purchased my daughters’ names for future use. Daryl, my oldest daughter, is now a senior at Millburn ( she’d probably kill me if she knew I was writing this!) . Because she’s an artist, we created a website www.DarylSeitchik.com with her “art gallery” to use for college applications. Read the rest of this entry »
