My son Keith who's now almost 27, went through the Millburn School system being captain of the boys lacrosse and soccer teams and in those days in meant nothing in terms of getting into college.(1995).He was a walk on at Penn State for Lacrosse and ultimately became the captain. You got to believe. When these kids believe in themselves, with a little support, the sky is the limit. HI Sue..You never know in life where you’re going. I work at an autism specialty school in Fairfield with this age (almost all boys as the condition is very disproportionately male). Many are quite athletic and have interests and desires like any typical teen. This is a “spectrum disorder” and this young man is not a more severely effected. BUT even among those who are more effected, I notice a keen interest in sports even as only spectators. I would like to be able to send this along to my supervisor at New Beginnings.
