Truly inspirational video to take you into 2009
Its Christmas day, and I just came across this video which made me cry- happy tears. It also made me want to immediately share it with my children and my team with my motherly advice ( I can’t help myself!). Here goes:
As we look ahead to 2009, don’t let the noise of the naysayers get in the way of your path to success. Surround yourself with positive people who support your goals and help support their goals too!
You can accomplish anything if you’re:
1. focused on mastering it
2.persistent in pursuing your dreams
3. work with a servant’s heart.
I’d love to hear from you what advice you think we should add to this!

This is the high school where my mother in law taught Art for 25 years. Small world-touching story!
Sue:
I think we are often touched buy those that are challenged – part of our selves identify with them. “We all feel at some level personally challenged” . His persistence, focus and dream could have never been accomplished without the love, support compassion, vision and commitment of his parents and a community that loved and supported him.
Fire in ones belly comes from years of nurtured confidence passed on to another.
It really does take a village.
Thanks for sharing.
Saw piece on autistic teen in the basketball game. I work at an autism specialty school in Fairfield with this age (almost all boys as the condition is very disproportionately male). Many are quite athletic and have interests and desires like any typical teen. This is a “spectrum disorder” and this young man is not a more severely effected. BUT even among those who are more effected, I notice a keen interest in sports even as only spectators. I would like to be able to send this along to my supervisor at New Beginnings.
I am not yet ready to sell, but when I do I shall contact you.
Happy holidays and it certainly IS a moving video!
Gives you goosebumps and makes you smile
Great video! i have seen it many times and it still affects me
HI Sue..You never know in life where you’re going. My son Keith who’s now almost 27, went through the Millburn School system being captain of the boys lacrosse and soccer teams and in those days in meant nothing in terms of getting into college.(1995).He was a walk on at Penn State for Lacrosse and ultimately became the captain. You got to believe. When these kids believe in themselves, with a little support, the sky is the limit.
Sue — what a very special treat to get us going into 2009 and to remind us that we each can contribute and make life so very special even if we are challenged in some ways. Thanks for reaching out in such a caring way!
